We play favorites. We aren’t supposed to, but we do. When we list a home we talk about the important details; bedrooms, bathrooms, price… But often our favorite parts of a home aren’t the big things. They are what stimulates the emotional side of your brain after the analytical side is satisfied. Well, we are done pretending those special nooks and features don’t exist, and we are going to start highlighting our very favorite parts of our listings. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that push you make a decision, and we’re here to help you get there, wherever THERE is, for you. Welcome to the first edition of “We Play Favorites in Real Estate.”
7917 Cold Creek Street. This is a great home with amazing features too numerous to count. For all the info and photos, please visit the website at www.7917coldcreek.info. We’re not here for that, though. We’re here to talk entryways. Entryways give the first impression of your home and set the tone for people the moment they walk in. And this one is just so darn cool. The finishings throughout the home are sleek and modern, and then there is the tile on the staircase. You wouldn’t expect it, it’s such a small detail, but for us it tells you a couple of things: 1. We have great style and taste (obviously), and 2. Fun happens here. The tile adds depth and aesthetic to a part of the home that mixed tiles are just different enough to be interesting, landing firmly in the “wonderfully eclectic” camp. It’s what you put on your Pinterest board because you love it, but never get around to doing. Problem solved! Here it is. But wait… there’s more! (Gosh we have always wanted to say that!) That under the stairs nook is intentional. It is an indoor doghouse for the owners’ fuzzy family member. But seriously- it is giving us intense blanket-fort vibes. This is where we would hang out, if we were kids. Honestly, it may be where we’d hang out NOW, but that’s another post. What a fun little corner for, sure, the dog, but also anyone who wants a private, secret nook to read, write in a diary, giggle and tell jokes, or any of the other things you do when the “grown-ups” aren’t right overhead. We love it, we think its special and unique, and it is our favorite part of this home. What do you think?
